Auburn Football continues to have turnover issues as Bryan Harsin’s seat gets even hotter. Auburn’s defense struggled in a game where the offense wasn’t much better. The Tigers get embarrassed on a national stage and they lose to Penn State in blowout fashion.

The Penn State Nittany Lions beat the Auburn Tigers, 41-12. The game started to close after Penn State capitalized on the Tigers’ turnovers in the second quarter. For the game, Auburn Football had 5 turnovers.

Obviously, turnovers continue to be a problem for the Tigers. Going into this game, Auburn had 8 turnovers for the season. Remember that Auburn has played 2 games so far before this blowout loss to the Nittany Lions. After today, the Tigers have 13 turnovers on the season.

The Tigers rushing defense was very poor against the Nittany Lions. Penn State had 245 rushing yards on the day. Nicholas Singleton had 124 yards on 10 carries. That is an average of 12.4 yards per carry. His longest run of the day was in the fourth quarter when he ran for 54 yards to the endzone to add another blow to this game when it was already a blowout.

Auburn Football wasn’t that much better in the passing game, as Sean Clifford had a day throwing the ball. The fifth-year senior threw for 178 yards on 14 completions. While it was the rushing attack that led Penn State’s offense this week, it was clear that everything was working on offense.

I didn’t really expect Auburn to win this game. Although Auburn was a three-point underdog, it seemed like the turnover issues would have to change for them to beat James Franklin, Sean Clifford, and the rest of the Nittany Lions. Also considering the turmoil around the program, not a lot of people had them winning this game.

While no one really expected Auburn to win this week, this was an embarrassing showing on a national stage. This is probably a sign of things to come for the Tigers. In mid-October, starting with Georgia (and maybe starting a week earlier with LSU), Auburn will have very similar games to the one they had yesterday.

It seems like Bryan Harsin’s days are numbered coaching the Tigers. I wouldn’t really expect him to still be the head coach of the Auburn Tigers past Thanksgiving. The Tigers had their first loss this year in a season probably filled with them the rest of the way.
