Arkansas vs Texas A&M: SEC Football game preview, TV schedule
Can the Aggies prove that the loss to Appalachian State was a one-off by beating KJ Jefferson and the Razorbacks? Can Arkansas prove that the performance against FCS opponent Missouri State was just an uncharacteristic performance? In a top-25 matchup, Texas A&M takes on Arkansas in a great beginning to both of their SEC in-conference schedules.

Texas A&M goes into this game with a 2-1 record. Their season started uneventfully in week 1 when they destroyed Sam Houston. In week 2, they had one of the worst losses in program history. The Aggies ran into offensive struggles as they lost to Appalachian State. In week 3, they still had offensive struggles but were able to beat Miami in a top-25 matchup.
The Aggies go into this game with a lot of offensive issues. Max Johnson was put in at QB after Haynes King was benched two games in. Johnson will get the start again. I don’t think the Aggies will be a lot better than they have been in the last two weeks.
This offense has struggled and I don’t see any signs that it will get better this week against the Razorbacks. If the Aggies want to win this game, they will need to have a better offensive performance than they have had in recent weeks.
Arkansas goes into this game after almost losing to FCS opponent Missouri State last week. In that game, the Razorbacks struggled with turnovers. Before that near historic upset, Arkansas beat South Carolina (beat them by a lot more than the 14-point score says, garbage minutes points from South Carolina led to the game not being a blowout) and Cincinnati.
The offense is led by QB KJ Jefferson and RB Raheim Sanders. Before the matchup against Missouri State, I thought Arkansas was one of the best teams in the country. With a poor showing in that one, I have doubts about the Razorbacks going forward. Beating Texas A&M would help restore my faith in Arkansas as one of the best teams in the country.
I really think this game is gonna come down to the Arkansas offense vs Texas A&M defense. If Texas A&M is able to stop KJ Jefferson and this Razorbacks’ offense, I would give the Aggies a shot. If this game gets into a shootout, I would not give the Aggies any chance at all due to their lack of offense progress this year.
Prediction
Arkansas: 24 Texas A&M: 14
I do not think that this Texas A&M defense will be able to stop KJ Jefferson and the rest of this Arkansas offense enough. If Texas A&M’s offense had a better showing through 3 games, I would give the Aggies a better shot to win this game. I am more confident with the Razorbacks. The turnover issues are a concern but the Texas A&M’s offense concerns me even more.
