Auburn vs LSU: Line, Prediction, TV Channel & Live Stream for SEC Football
By Matt Melton
An important SEC Football conference matchup for both teams, Auburn hosts LSU on Saturday night from Jordan-Hare Stadium. LSU holds the all-time advantage in this head-to-head series, 31-24-1, with Auburn having won the last two meetings (48-11 in 2020, 24-19 in 2021).
Auburn (3-1 overall, 1-0 in SEC) opened SEC Football play with a win last Saturday afternoon, defeating Missouri by a final of 17-14. This game with LSU will also mark Auburn’s fifth straight home game to start the season, with the Tigers lone loss in that stretch so far coming to Penn State back in week three.
Offensively, the Tigers have struggled averaging only 23.8 PPG, a group led by the running back duo of Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter. Robby Ashford is set to draw the start at quarterback once again with TJ Finley out, with Ja’Varrius Johnson, Shedrick Jackson, John Samuel Shenker, and Koy Moore cemented the Tigers top pass catchers.
On defense, Auburn is allowing 21.8 PPG to opponents, and are led by the linebacker duo of Cam Riley and Owen Pappoe on that side of the ball. Derick Hall (21 tackles, 5 TFL, 3 sacks) leads a solid defensive front alongside Eku Leota and Colby Wooden, while Keionte Scott is another name to know on the Auburn defense.
LSU (3-1 overall, 1-0 in SEC) comes to Auburn on a three-game winning streak, one that includes a dominant 38-0 shutout of New Mexico a week ago. Included in that span was also a home win over Mississippi State to open SEC Football play, as well as a 65-point performance against Southern.
Led by quarterback Jayden Daniels, the LSU offense comes to Auburn averaging 39.2 PPG, in part due to an impressive ground game anchored by Daniels, Armoni Goodwin, and Noah Cain. The Tigers also have a deep group of receivers, one that includes Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr, Jaray Jenkins, Kayshon Boutte, and Mason Taylor, each of which have 10+ receptions this season.
Defensively, LSU has impressed this season allowing only 14.2 PPG to opponents, a group led by star freshman Harold Perkins. Saivion Jones, West Weeks, and BJ Ojulari also rank among the Tigers top pass rushers this season, while Jay Ward, Major Burns, and Greg Brooks Jr are also notable names to know.
Auburn vs LSU Line, Spread, Over/Under
As of Friday, LSU is an 8.5-point favorite over Auburn according to FanDuel. The money line is LSU -335, with the over/under set at 45.5.
Auburn vs LSU SEC Football Prediction
Being played on their home field, this is simply a game that Auburn and head coach Bryan Harsin need to win. However, it’s hard to imagine Auburn winning based on their inability to throw the ball so far this season, meaning that LSU is likely the pick here, with the Tigers likely winning by one-to-two touchdowns. Prediction: Auburn 21, LSU 30
