Mississippi State vs Texas A&M: Line, Prediction, TV Channel & Live Stream for SEC Football
By Matt Melton
A head-to-head matchup that is tied 5-5 since the Aggies joined SEC Football back in 2012, Texas A&M travels to Starkville on Saturday for a showdown with the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Aggies have won two of the last three meetings between these two teams, with Mississippi State having won a year ago in College Station by a final of 26-22.
Mississippi State (3-1, 0-1 in SEC Football) comes into this contest off a 45-14 win over Bowling Green, remaining undefeated on their home field in the process. The Bulldogs will also be looking for their first conference win of the season in this matchup, with Mississippi State having previously lost at LSU 31-16 back in week three.
The Bulldogs offense coming into this game averaging 37.2 PPG on the year, a group led by one of the conference’s top quarterbacks in Will Rogers (74.1 CMP%, 1,386 yards, 16:3 TD:INT). Dillon Johnson and Jo’quavious Marks are the Bulldogs top two options at running back, while Caleb Ducking, Rara Thomas, Rufus Harvey, and Lideatrick Griffin are all prominent receivers.
Defensively, the Bulldogs are allowing 21.2 PPG to opponents this season, with the duo of Jett Johnson and Nathaniel Watson leading Mississippi State in tackles by far. Decamerion Richardson is not far behind those two however, as are Tyrus Wheat and Jalen Green.
Texas A&M (3-1, 1-0 in SEC) however comes to Starkville off back-to-back Top 25 wins, having defeated Miami back in week three, as well as Arkansas a week ago by a final of 23-21. The Aggies are currently ranked as the No. 17 team in the country, with this also being their first true road contest of the season.
The Texas A&M offense has struggled at times this season averaging only 21.2 PPG, a group that is led by star running back Devon Achane (65 carries, 355 yards, 3 TD). Max Johnson is the Aggies starter at quarterback, while names such as Evan Stewart, Yulkeith Brown, and Donovan Green will have to step into bigger roles at receiver with leading wideout Ainias Smith out.
On defense, the Aggies currently rank ninth in the nation with 11.8 PPG allowed to opponents, with names such as Antonio Johnson, Chris Russell, and Jardin Gilbert leading the way. Edgerrin Cooper and Demani Richardson also have 20+ tackles so far this season, while Shemar Stewart is tied for the team-lead with 1.5 sacks.

Mississippi State vs Texas A&M SEC Football Prediction
With this game being played in Starkville, I’ll say that Mississippi State makes it two straight years with a win in this matchup, and for the Bulldogs to upset the Aggies on Saturday afternoon. This game should be close however, with Texas A&M’s offense likely having to play their best game yet in order to win. Prediction: Mississippi State 24, Texas A&M 21
