SEC Football Week 5 Takeaways
- One of the SEC’s top returning running backs from a year ago, Kentucky senior Chris Rodriguez Jr made his 2022 season debut on Saturday, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, while also catching three passes for 40 yards.
- Alabama QB Bryce Young suffered an injury during week five, with backup Jalen Milroe impressing as his replacement. The Crimson Tide’s starter against Texas A&M in week six is likely TBD at the moment.
- Georgia, who was ranked No. 1 in the country at the time of the game, survived a potential upset on the road at Missouri, 26-22. Special teams play was strong on both sides of the field in this contest as kickers Jack Podlesny and Harrison Mevis went a combined nine-for-nine on field goals during the game.
