8. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 9

Speaking of the Bulldogs, Mississippi State rose a spot in this week’s update after their 42-24 win over Texas A&M. The Bulldogs first SEC win of the season, Mississippi State never trailed in the contest against the Aggies, outgaining Texas A&M 473-388 in total yardage.

Mississippi State will remain at home in week six for yet another intriguing matchup as the Bulldogs host Arkansas. The Bulldogs are likely a slight favorite in this matchup, one that could honestly go either way.

7. Arkansas Razorbacks

Previous Ranking: 6

Arkansas dropped their second consecutive game last Saturday as the Razorbacks fell to Alabama at home by a final of 49-26. Aside from a third quarter where the Razorbacks outscored the Crimson Tide 16-0, it was a dominating performance from Alabama, with Arkansas falling behind by a 28-0 deficit towards the end of the second quarter.

As mentioned previously as well, things do not get any easier for the Razorbacks in week six as Arkansas travels to Starkville for a matchup with Mississippi State. Arkansas will certainly need a bounce back performance in order to leave Starkville with a win.
