SEC Football: Ole Miss, Mississippi State rise in Week 6 2022 power rankings

2. Georgia Bulldogs
Previous Ranking: 1
Even despite leaving Columbia with a win, Georgia falls a spot to No. 2 in this week’s update after their 26-22 victory over Missouri. This was simply not a strong performance from the Bulldogs as Georgia trailed the Tigers for a vast majority of the game, and did not take a lead until late in the fourth quarter.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a rivalry showdown with Auburn in Athens, a game in which Georgia will certainly be a big favorite. The Bulldogs should win this game by multiple touchdowns with it being played on their home field.
1. Alabama Crimson Tide
Previous Ranking: 2
After previously having held the top spot earlier this season, Alabama returns to the No. 1 overall ranking in our SEC Football power rankings entering week six, coming off a 49-26 win at Arkansas. An overall impressive performance from the Crimson Tide, Alabama would carry a 28-7 lead into halftime against the Razorbacks, with the only real negative coming in the third quarter where they were outscored 16-0.
Alabama returns home in week six as well for a highly anticipated matchup with Texas A&M, a game in which the Crimson Tide will likely be big favorites. Based on that way the Crimson Tide have been playing as well, especially on offense, this is a game that Alabama could easily end up winning by multiple touchdowns.
