One of the most anticipated SEC Football matchups of the season, the Texas A&M Aggies travel to Tuscaloosa for a Saturday night showdown with the Alabama Crimson Tide. A series in which the Crimson Tide holds an 11-3 all-time advantage, Alabama, as you likely know, was upset by Texas A&M last season in College Station 41-38, which snapped an eight-game head-to-head losing streak for the Aggies that dated back to 2013.
Alabama advanced to 5-0 overall, as well as 2-0 in SEC Football play, last Saturday with a 49-26 road win at Arkansas, a game in which the Crimson Tide never trailed. With the win, Alabama moved back to the No. 1 overall ranking in the latest AP Poll, one that the Crimson Tide previously held across the first two weeks of the season.
The Crimson Tide offense has been one of the nation’s best across the first five weeks of the season, a group that is averaging a combined 48.4 PPG, a number that currently ranks fourth-best nationally. Either Jalen Milroe or Bryce Young will lead that group at quarterback this week, with others such as Jahmyr Gibbs, Jase McClellan, Traeshon Holden, Kobe Prentice, and Ja’Corey Brooks all names to know at the skill positions.
Defensively, Alabama is allowing the fifth-fewest points in the nation to an opponent at 11 PPG, a group featuring one of the nation’s top defensive players in Will Anderson Jr, an outside linebacker who has compiled 27 tackles, 9 TFL, and 5 sacks so far this season. The Crimson Tide defense also has three players with 30+ tackles in Jaylen Moody, Henry To’oTo’o, and DeMarcco Hellams, while Kool-Aid McKinstry has collected a by far seven PD’s in Alabama’s secondary.
As for Texas A&M, the Aggies come to Tuscaloosa with a 3-2 overall record, as well as a 1-1 mark in SEC Football play. Texas A&M is also coming off a 42-24 road loss against Mississippi State, one that saw the Aggies go from No. 17 in the AP Poll to unranked this week, the first time this season that Jimbo Fisher’s squad isn’t ranked.
Offensively, the Aggies have struggled at times this season averaging only 21.8 PPG, a group that is led by one of SEC Football’s top running backs in Devon Achane, a junior who has rushed for 466 yards and three touchdowns on 81 attempts this season. Max Johnson and Haynes King both saw time at quarterback a week ago, while freshman Evan Stewart and Moose Muhammad III are the names to know at wide receiver.
Texas A&M’s defense however has been strong altogether allowing 17.8 PPG to opponents, a group led by Antonio Johnson with a team-high 46 tackles. Chris Russell, Jardin Gilbert, Edgerrin Cooper, and Demani Richardson are also prominent tacklers for this Aggies team, while freshman Shemar Stewart is a key pass rusher to know.

Alabama vs Texas A&M SEC Football Prediction
Texas A&M was able to upset the Crimson Tide a year ago in College Station, but it will certainly be harder to do this season in Tuscaloosa. Based on the way the Aggies have struggled offensively this season, it’s hard to imagine Texas A&M being able to keep up with Alabama on the scoreboard in this contest, meaning that the Crimson Tide should win by at-least one-to-two touchdowns. Prediction: Alabama 35, Texas A&M 14
