Compared to previous months, September was not necessarily the most active when it came to the SEC Football recruiting trail. However, there were still notable commitments from multiple different top recruits, so let’s take a look at some of the biggest SEC Football recruiting winners during the month of September (NOTE: Rankings courtesy of the 247Sports Composite).

September Commits:

  • 5-star DL David Hicks
  • 4-star CB Bravion Rogers
  • 4-star OL TJ Shanahan

After bringing in the nation’s top recruiting class a year ago, Texas A&M was SEC Football’s biggest winner during September, landing three total commits. When looking at those names, the biggest was undoubtedly that of David Hicks, a five-star prospect who is arguably the top defensive lineman in the entire 2023 class.

Currently the top commit in the Aggies 2023 class as well, Hicks is an in-state product out of Paetow High School, one who could simply be described as a coveted defensive line prospect. Continuing the success from last cycle for Texas A&M along the defensive front, Hicks is a versatile player who can fill multiple roles on the defensive line, something that should help the five-star see the field very early next season in College Station.

In addition to Hicks, Texas A&M also landed two other in-state commits, the first of which comes on defense in Bravion Rogers, a four-star cornerback who is considered as a Top 50 player in the 2023 class. The Aggies also added another name along the offensive line in TJ Shanahan, a four-star out of Westlake High School.
