Mississippi State vs Arkansas: Line, Prediction, TV Channel & Live Stream for SEC Football
By Matt Melton
Mississippi State and Arkansas collide on Saturday afternoon for an SEC Football matchup that could be one of the conference’s best in week six. A head-to-head series in which Arkansas holds an 18-13-1 all-time advantage, the Razorbacks have also won two straight over the Bulldogs, including a 31-28 win a year ago in Fayetteville.
Looking at the Bulldogs, Mississippi State is coming off arguably their best win of the season up to this point where they defeated Texas A&M at home, 42-24. With the win, the Bulldogs entered the Top 25 at No. 23 overall, with Mississippi State currently owning a 4-1 overall record, as well as a 1-1 mark in SEC play.
Averaging 38.2 PPG on offense, Mississippi State is led by one of SEC Football’s top passing attacks featuring quarterback Will Rogers, as well as receivers Rara Thomas, Caleb Ducking, Rufus Harvey, and Lideatrick Griffin. Dillon Johnson has also been a key playmaker this season from the running back position, as has Jo’quavious Marks.
The Bulldogs defense has allowed a combined 21.8 PPG to opponents this season, a group led by the duo of Jett Johnson and Nathaniel Watson. Watson leads Mississippi State with three sacks on the year, while others such as Decamerion Richardson, Jalen Green, Tyrus Wheat, Collin Duncan, and Randy Charlton are all names to know.
Arkansas on the other hand has lost two straight games, coming against Texas A&M and Alabama last week where the Razorbacks fell 49-26. Now sitting at 3-2 overall, as well as 1-2 in SEC play, the loss to the Crimson Tide dropped the Razorbacks outside the Top 25, the first time this season that Arkansas is unranked going into a game.
The Razorbacks offense comes into this contest averaging 32 PPG, and is led by quarterback KJ Jefferson, while backup Cade Fortin also saw time a week ago. Raheim Sanders has been one of SEC Football’s top running backs so far this season rushing for 609 yards and four touchdowns, while Matt Landers, Jadon Haselwood, and Trey Knox are three names to know at receiver.
Defensively, Arkansas is allowing 30.6 PPG to opponents, a number that is among the highest of any team in SEC Football. Bumper Pool leads this group in total tackles with 47, while the Razorbacks pass rush in one of the best in the SEC featuring names such as Drew Sanders, Jordan Domineck, Zach Williams, and Landon Jackson.

Mississippi State vs Arkansas SEC Football Prediction
Mississippi State picked up a big win at home a week ago against Texas A&M, and could easily do the same Saturday facing the Razorbacks. I’ll say that the Bulldogs get that win as well, with the success of the Mississippi State passing game as a big reason why. Prediction: Mississippi State 35, Arkansas 17
