As we enter week seven of the 2022 SEC Football season, which teams rose and fell in our latest conference power rankings?

Mississippi State, South Carolina rise in SEC Football Week 7 power rankings

14. Vanderbilt Commodores

Previous Ranking: 14

Remaining in the No. 14 spot, Vanderbilt dropped their second consecutive game on Saturday as the Commodores fell at home to Ole Miss, 52-28. A game in which Vanderbilt actually led 20-10 at one point in the first half, the Commodores however were outscored a combined 35-8 across the games final two quarters, while also giving up a total of 591 yards to the Rebels offense in the contest.

Having now dropped each of their first two SEC Football games of the year, the Commodores are set to take on their third consecutive Top 10 opponent in week seven as Vanderbilt will travel to Athens for a showdown with top ranked Georgia. The Commodores will likely be massive underdogs going into Saturday, and will have to play a near perfect game to leave Athens with a victory.

13. Auburn Tigers

Previous Ranking: 13

The Tigers also dropped their second consecutive game Saturday as Auburn fell on the road at Georgia, 42-10. Remaining here in the No. 13 spot, Auburn was able to keep the game close in the first half, but were outscored a combined 28-10 across the final two quarters, with the Tigers also able to only amount 258 yards of total offense all game.

Having now lost three of their last four games, Auburn will travel once again this Saturday to face a Top 10 opponent as the Tigers take on Ole Miss in Oxford. A game in which the Tigers will have to match points on the scoreboard in order to win, Auburn is likely a big underdog going into this matchup based on their offensive struggles in recent weeks.
