10. LSU Tigers

Previous Ranking: 6

Another notable team to drop in this week’s update was LSU, as the Tigers four-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday with a home loss to Tennessee, 40-13. A game in which the Tigers never led, LSU fell behind 20-0 early in the contest, which also included a 13-0 deficit at the end of the first quarter.

The Tigers will now travel for their second true road game of the season in week seven as LSU will take on Florida in Gainesville. LSU has won the last three meetings between the two, including a 37-34 win in Gainesville back in 2020.

9. South Carolina Gamecocks

Previous Ranking: 11

Rising two spots from a week ago, South Carolina picked up their first SEC Football win of the season on Saturday as the Gamecocks upset Kentucky in Lexington, 24-14. A game in which the Wildcats were without starting quarterback Will Levis, South Carolina held a commanding 24-7 lead late in the fourth quarter, and would not relinquish that lead in route to their third consecutive win.

The Gamecocks now enter their bye week with a 4-2 overall record on the year, as well as a 1-2 mark in conference play. South Carolina will return to action in week eight where the Gamecocks will host Texas A&M.
