8. Florida Gators

Previous Ranking: 10

Florida also rises two spots in this week’s update, with the Gators coming off a 24-17 win at home over Missouri last Saturday. The Gators first SEC win of the season, Florida never trailed against the Tigers, and also impressed on the ground where they rushed for 231 total yards.

As mentioned previously, Florida will remain at home during week seven where the Gators will take on LSU. Florida will likely be the favorite going into Saturday night, but will likely need to play better, especially throwing the ball, than the Missouri game in order to advance to 5-2.

7. Texas A&M Aggies

Previous Ranking: 9

Even despite dropping their second consecutive game, Texas A&M still rises in this week’s update as the Aggies nearly upset top ranked Alabama in Tuscaloosa, eventually falling by a final score of 24-20. A game in which the Aggies had a chance to win on the final play of regulation, this was a noteworthy performance from the Texas A&M defense in particular as they forced four turnovers.

The Aggies now enter their bye week with a 3-3 overall record, as well as a 1-2 record in SEC play. Texas A&M will return to action in week eight where they will travel to take on South Carolina.
