Tennessee vs Alabama: Line, Prediction, TV Channel & Live Stream for SEC Football
By Matt Melton
Undoubtedly the biggest SEC Football game during week seven, Tennessee welcomes Alabama to Neyland Stadium for a Top 10 matchup. A rivalry that dates back to 1901, Alabama holds an all-time 58-38-7 advantage in “The Third Saturday in October,” with the Crimson Tide having also won 15 straight over the Volunteers dating back to 2007.
Beginning with a look at Tennessee, the Volunteers come into this contest ranked as the No. 6 team in the country, one that owns a 5-0 overall record, as well as a 2-0 mark in SEC Football play. The Volunteers are also coming off one of their most impressive wins of the year this past week as they defeated LSU 40-13 in Baton Rouge, adding to a resume of victories that also includes Florida and Pittsburgh.
Averaging 547.8 yards per game, Tennessee at the moment ranks second-best nationally with an average of 46.8 PPG on offense, a group that is led by one of the conference’s top quarterbacks in senior Hendon Hooker. The Volunteers top receivers are Jalin Hyatt, Bru McCoy, Cedric Tillman (has not played since week three), and Ramel Keyton, while the duo of Jaylen Wright and Jabari Small has combined for 10 rushing touchdowns on the year.
Defensively, Tennessee is allowing 17.8 PPG to opponents, a group led by Aaron Beasley with a team-high 36 tackles. Kamal Hadden, Trevon Flowers, and Jeremy Banks are three other notable names to know, as is defensive lineman Byron Young who leads the Volunteers with 3.5 sacks on the year.
Alabama comes into this contest off a 24-20 win over Texas A&M a week ago, a result that caused the Crimson Tide to drop to No. 3 in the country. Previously ranked No. 1, Alabama currently owns a combined 6-0 record overall, as well as a 3-0 mark in SEC Football play with wins over the Aggies, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt.
The Crimson Tide rank right behind the Volunteers in scoring offense at 44.3 PPG (No. 5 in nation), and were led by Jalen Milroe at quarterback a week ago against Texas A&M, with it possibly that starter Bryce Young returns for this matchup. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs leads the Crimson Tide in rushing, while also ranking highly in receiving, while others such as Traeshon Holden, Ja’Corey Brooks, Jase McClellan, Jermaine Burton, and Kobe Prentice are all names to know.
Defensively, Alabama is allowing only 12.5 PPG to opponents this season, a number that ranks as the sixth-fewest nationally. Former Tennessee transfer Henry To’oTo’o leads the Crimson Tide in tackles with 39, while others such as Will Anderson Jr, DeMarcco Hellams, Jaylen Moody, and Brian Branch are also top tacklers on this Alabama defense.

Tennessee vs Alabama SEC Football Prediction
Even with this game being played in Knoxville, it’s hard to not pick Alabama against Tennessee, solely based on the fact that the Crimson Tide have not lost to the Volunteers under Nick Saban. This game will certainly be close however, as well as high scoring, but Alabama should win in the end, especially if Young is available at quarterback. Prediction: Tennessee 30, Alabama 35
