A matchup that Auburn has owned in recent years, the Tigers travel to Oxford this weekend for a Saturday afternoon SEC Football showdown with Ole Miss. A head-to-head series in which the Tigers hold a 35-10 all-time advantage, Auburn has won the last six meetings between these two teams, with Ole Miss’ last win coming back in 2015.

Beginning with a look at Ole Miss, the Rebels come into Saturday with an undefeated 6-0 record, as well as a 2-0 mark in SEC Football play. The Rebels are also ranked as the No. 9 team in the country according to the latest AP Poll, and are coming off a 52-28 win at Vanderbilt a week ago, a game in which the Ole Miss defense allowed a season-high in points to an opponent.

The Rebels offense comes into this contest averaging 39.7 PPG, a group that features one of the SEC’s top running back duos in Quinshon Judkins and Zach Evans, one that has combined for 14 touchdowns on the year. Jaxson Dart has also impressed at quarterback this season, while the Rebels wide receivers are headlined by Jonathan Mingo, Malik Heath, and Jordan Watkins, with Mingo in particular coming off a massive performance against Vanderbilt (9 receptions, 247 yards, 2 TD).

Defensively, the Rebels also rank Top 20 nationally in points allowed per game at 14.5, with AJ Finley and Troy Brown tied for the team-lead at 45 tackles apiece. Tysheem Johnson and Austin Keys are also top tacklers, while Khari Coleman and Jared Ivey are tied with 2.5 sacks each to lead the Rebels.

Auburn however has struggled in recent weeks, and comes to Oxford having lost two straight against both LSU and Georgia, with last week’s loss coming to the Bulldogs 42-10 in Athens. Owning a 3-3 record on the year, as well as a 1-2 mark in SEC Football play, this will also mark only the second time this season that the Tigers have gone on the road.

Averaging 20.3 PPG on offense, the Tigers are led by quarterback Robby Ashford, as well as the running back duo of Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter. Ja’Varrius Johnson is the Tigers leading receiver, while John Samuel Shenker, Koy Moore, and Shedrick Jackson are also names to know.

Auburn’s defense however is allowing 25 PPG to opponents, with their 42-point total allowed to Georgia being the highest of the season. The Tigers are led on that side of the ball by the pass rushing duo of Derick Hall and Colby Wooden, while others such as Owen Pappoe, Cam Riley, Wesley Steiner, and Zion Puckett are additional names to know.

Ole Miss vs Auburn SEC Football Prediction

When simply looking at both Ole Miss and Auburn in recent weeks, it’s hard not to pick the Rebels in this contest. Auburn could struggle to keep up with the Rebels offensively, meaning that Ole Miss should pull away in this contest, winning by at-least one-to-two touchdowns. Prediction: Ole Miss 38, Auburn 21
