Looking back at last Saturday, week seven of the 2022 SEC Football season was one of the most action-packed to date. One that was headlined by a Top 10 showdown in Knoxville, how do the results from last Saturday affect our SEC Football power rankings?

Tennessee, LSU rise in Week 8 SEC Football power rankings

14. Vanderbilt Commodores

Previous Ranking: 14

Beginning here with Vanderbilt at No. 14, the Commodores suffered their third consecutive loss on the road at Georgia last Saturday by a final of 55-0. The first time this season that Vanderbilt was shutout offensively, the Commodores were only able to gain 150 yards of total offense the entire game, as well as only 10 first downs.

The Commodores will travel once again during week eight as Vanderbilt will take on Missouri in Columbia. Vanderbilt will likely not be favored going in, and will undoubtedly have to play better than Saturday in order to pickup their first SEC Football win of the season.

13. Auburn Tigers

Previous Ranking: 13

Similar to Vanderbilt, Auburn also dropped their third consecutive game last Saturday as the Tigers fell at Ole Miss, 48-34. Falling behind 21-0 early, the Tigers did however impress on the ground by rushing for 301 total yards, but would once again struggle with both throwing the ball and turnovers, as Auburn would pass for 140 yards while also committing three turnovers.

Having lost three of their last four games, Auburn enters their bye week with a 3-4 overall record, as well as a 1-3 mark in SEC Football play. The Tigers will return to play during week nine with a home matchup against Arkansas.
