As we enter week nine, here is the latest update of our 2022 SEC Football power rankings, one that is headlined by a rise from both LSU and South Carolina.

LSU, South Carolina rise in SEC Football Week 9 power rankings

14. Vanderbilt Commodores

Previous Ranking: 14

Beginning with Vanderbilt at No. 14, the Commodores dropped their fourth consecutive game last Saturday, falling on the road to Missouri by a final of 17-14. A game in which the Commodores forced four Missouri turnovers, Vanderbilt also shutout the Tigers in the second half by outscoring them 14-0, but were not able to overcome the 17-0 deficit they carried into halftime.

Holding a 3-5 overall record, as well as a 0-4 mark in SEC Football play, the Commodores will not play in week nine due to a bye week. Vanderbilt will return to action on November 5 where they will host South Carolina.

13. Auburn Tigers

Previous Rankings: 13

The Tigers are coming off a bye week this past Saturday, and will return to play during week nine by hosting Arkansas. Having lost three straight, Auburn is certainly capable of beating Arkansas, especially with this game being played on their home field, but will certainly have to play better than in previous weeks, especially when throwing the ball.
