If there is one name in particular that will likely be connected to the Auburn Football job opening the most, it’s that of Freeze. A former coach in the SEC, Freeze, similar to Sanders, is likely going to get a bigger job at some point in the coming years, with Auburn as a legit possibility.

An experienced collegiate coach, Freeze is currently in his fourth season as the head coach at Liberty where the Flames are currently 7-1 through eight games, ranked No. 23 in the AP Poll. Across that span, Freeze has helped lead the Flames to a combined 33-12 record from 2019-22, as well as three consecutive bowl victories.

As mentioned previously, Freeze is no stranger to the SEC having coached at Ole Miss from 2012-16, a span in which he led the Rebels to a combined 39-25 record and four bowl appearances, two of which were NY6 bowls. Freeze would lead the Rebels to a 10-win season in 2015, and also spent a season at Arkansas State in 2011 where he made a bowl appearance during a 10-win season.

Overall, it feels likely that Freeze lands a power five job at some point in the near future, with a return to the SEC as a possibility. Could that return potentially happen as the next head coach of the Tigers?
