6. Kentucky Wildcats

Previous Ranking: 4

Falling two spots in this week’s update, Kentucky struggled mightily during their 44-6 road loss at Tennessee on Saturday. The Wildcats did however start strong by finding the end zone in the first quarter, but would be shutout across the game’s final three quarters, as well as held to only 205 yards of total offense, while also committing three turnovers.

The Wildcats will travel once again this Saturday as Kentucky will take on Missouri. Likely a slim favorite in the contest, this is a game that you could certainly argue Kentucky should win, but the Wildcats will undoubtedly have to play better in order to do that.

5. Ole Miss Rebels

Previous Ranking: 6

Ole Miss got back in the win column Saturday with a 31-28 road victory at Texas A&M, with the Rebels rising a spot in this week’s update as a result. A game in which the Rebels outgained the Aggies 530-480 in total yardage, Ole Miss dominated the second and third quarters by outscoring Texas A&M 17-0 during that span to build a lead entering the fourth, with their high-powered rushing attack accounting for 390 total yards on the ground.

Ranked as the No. 11 team in the country, Ole Miss now enters their bye week with an 8-1 overall record, as well as a 4-1 mark in SEC Football play. The Rebels will return to action on November 12 with a massive showdown with Alabama in Oxford, one that could play a key role in deciding the SEC West.
