With the 2022-23 SEC Basketball season set to begin Monday night, why not take a minute and make some predictions on what will happen between now and March?

As for what these predictions will look like, I will make my picks for each of the following:

  • SEC Final Regular Season Standings
  • All-SEC teams
  • SEC Individual Awards

So, let’s get to it. Here are my preseason predictions for the 2022-23 SEC Basketball season, beginning with the final regular season standings at seasons end.

Preseason predictions for the 2022-23 SEC Basketball season

SEC Basketball Regular Season Final Standings

  • Kentucky
  • Arkansas
  • Tennessee
  • Alabama
  • Auburn
  • Florida
  • Texas A&M
  • LSU
  • Ole Miss
  • Vanderbilt
  • Mississippi State
  • Missouri
  • Georgia
  • South Carolina

Beginning with the final regular season standings, I predict that Kentucky will win the 2022-23 SEC regular season title, but it will certainly be by a slim margin. In fact, the top five teams from Kentucky-Auburn should all be very close this season in the conference standings, which each of those five teams capable of finishing in the top spot.

Additionally, I predict that the SEC will send at-least seven teams to the NCAA Tournament this season, with LSU, and potentially Ole Miss, both on the bubble come March.
