8. South Carolina Gamecocks
Previous Ranking: 11
Also rising three spots to No. 8, South Carolina also picked up a road win as the Gamecocks went to Nashville to defeat Vanderbilt by a final of 38-27. A game in which they never trailed, South Carolina was able to build a 31-14 lead going into halftime, and were led offensively by the QB/WR duo of Spencer Rattler and Antwane Wells Jr who connected for a touchdown twice.
As mentioned above as well, the Gamecocks are set to travel once again this Saturday for a matchup with Florida. Playing on the road, South Carolina is likely not the favorite going into the game, but could very easily leave Gainesville with a win.
7. Mississippi State Bulldogs
Previous Ranking: 7
Remaining in the No. 7 spot, Mississippi State snapped their two-game losing streak last Saturday with a home win over Auburn in Starkville, topping the Tigers by a final of 39-33 in overtime. A game in which the Bulldogs got out to an early lead, Mississippi State however struggled in the second half, being outscored a combined 24-9 across the third and fourth quarters.
As for this Saturday, Mississippi State will remain at home for a matchup with top ranked Georgia. The Bulldogs will certainly be a multiple touchdown home underdog, and will be looking to upset Georgia for their first victory in the head-to-head series since 2010.
