Florida Football and head coach Billy Napier had a notable addition to their 2023 class Thursday night as Jaden Rashada announced that he would be flipping his commitment to the Gators from Miami, whom he had been previously committed to since June of 2022.
Four-star QB Jaden Rashada flips to Florida Football from Miami
One of the top quarterbacks in the 2023 class, Rashada is a highly-rated four-star prospect out of Pittsburg High School in California, one who is currently considered as the No. 57 overall player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite.
As mentioned previously, Rashada had been committed to Miami for the past couple of months, where the four-star was one of the top names in a 2023 Hurricanes class that is one of the best in the ACC. Rashada now however joins a 2023 Gators class where he is currently the highest-rated commit in one of the SEC’s top classes, as well as one of the highest-rated recruits so far of the Napier era in Gainesville.
Also included in that Florida Football 2023 class is another quarterback in Marcus Stokes, who is also a four-star prospect out of in-state Nease High School. In all, Rashada is the 23rd commit in the Gators 2023 class as well, as well as only the sixth commit not from in-state joining each of the following:
- 4-star DL Kelby Collins (Gardendale, AL)
- 4-star DL T.J. Searcy (Upson-Lee, GA)
- 4-star DL Will Norman (Eastside, NJ)
- 4-star ATH Aaron Gates (Trinity Christian, GA)
- 3-star S Bryce Thornton (Milton, GA)
Looking ahead, Rashada is now set to be part of a talented quarterback room in Gainesville next season alongside the previously mentioned Stokes, as well as others such as Jack Miller III, Jalen Kitna, and potentially current starter Anthony Richardson. As for who wins the starting job next season out of that group, don’t count out Rashada from day one, a player who is undoubtedly a massive pickup for the Gators.
