Tennessee vs Colorado: Line, Prediction, TV Channel & Live Stream for SEC Basketball
By Matt Melton
An SEC Basketball vs Pac-12 showdown, Tennessee and Colorado are set to face off on Sunday afternoon for a neutral-site matchup in Nashville. Only the fifth-ever meeting between the two teams, Tennessee has never lost to the Buffaloes, with the most recent contest being a 69-54 win last season in Boulder.
Beginning with a look at Tennessee, the Volunteers come into Sunday with a record of 1-0, having previously defeated Tennessee Tech on Monday night by a final of 75-43. A game in which the Volunteers never trailed, Tennessee was led by guard Tyreke Key with a game-high 17 points, with another guard in Zakai Zeigler also in double-figures with 12 points.
Currently ranked as the No. 11 team in the country, the Volunteers also had notable performances from Santiago Vescovi and Julian Phillips in the contest, with Olivier Nkamhoua and Uros Plavsic rounding out the starting lineup in addition to Zeigler. The two other primary options off the Tennessee bench were Josiah-Jordan James and Jahmai Mashack, while Jonas Aidoo and BJ Edwards also saw time.
As for Colorado, the Buffaloes also sit at 1-0 on the year coming off an 82-66 win to begin the 2022-23 season over UC Riverside. The Buffaloes had four scorers in double-figures in the contest in J’Vonne Hadley, KJ Simpson, Tristan da Silva, and Jalen Gabbidon, while also shooting a noteworthy 46.2% from three-point range (6-of-13).
Lawson Lovering and Nique Clifford also drew starts for Colorado in the contest, while the bench for the Buffaloes also made an impact as well. In addition to the previously mentioned Gabbidon, Javon Ruffin, Julian Hammond III, Luke O’Brien, and Ethan Wright each played significant minutes in the Buffaloes season opener.
Tennessee vs Colorado SEC Basketball Prediction
With this game being played in Nashville, Tennessee is certainly a heavy favorite as it will likely feel like a home game for the Volunteers at times. I’ll say that Tennessee does win this game as well, adding a noteworthy non-conference win to their resume early in the season. Prediction: Tennessee 75, Colorado 66
