SEC Recruiting Weekly Roundup: Kentucky, Arkansas land top 2023 recruits

If there is one thing that never stops in the SEC, it’s recruiting. Well, to build off that thought, we are beginning a new weekly series here at Southbound & Down that will take a look at some of the biggest headlines in SEC recruiting from the week prior, beginning here with our first edition.
So, let’s get to it. Here are some of the biggest SEC recruiting headlines from the past week.
SEC Recruiting Weekly Roundup: Kentucky, Arkansas land top 2023 recruits
Kentucky lands DJ Wagner
Kentucky, who currently holds the SEC’s top 2023 recruiting class on the hardwood, landed their fifth commitment of the cycle in DJ Wagner, a five-star combo guard out of Camden High School in New Jersey. Wagner is arguably the nation’s top 2023 recruit, and is the fourth Top 10 rated recruit in the Wildcats’ class, joining Justin Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw, and Robert Dillingham.
Baye Fall commits to Arkansas
Arkansas also landed a massive commitment to their 2023 basketball class this past week in Baye Fall, a five-star prospect out of Accelerated Schools in Colorado. Fall is Arkansas’ second five-star addition of the 2023 cycle joining Layden Blocker, and gives the Razorbacks one of the top centers in the class.
Daniel Harris decommits from Georgia
Daniel Harris, who is a four-star cornerback out of Gulliver Prep in Florida, decommitted from Georgia last week. Harris had previously been committed to the Bulldogs since July of 2022.
Winston Watkins Jr decommits from Texas A&M
Winston Watkins Jr decommitted from Texas A&M this past week, with the five-star having previously been committed to the Aggies since December of 2021. Watkins, who attends IMG Academy in Florida, is one of the nation’s top wide receivers in the 2025 class.
LSU adds Wallace Foster to 2024 class
LSU added another name to their current top ranked 2024 class in Wallace Foster, a four-star cornerback out of in-state Warren Easton High School.
Former Kentucky commit Khalifa Keith commits to Tennessee
Former Kentucky commit Khalifa Keith, who previously decommitted from the Wildcats earlier this month, committed to Tennessee this past week. Keith is a three-star running back in the 2023 class out of Parker High School in Alabama.
Keyone Jenkins commits to Auburn
Auburn landed their first quarterback commit of the 2023 cycle this past week in Keyone Jenkins, a three-star prospect out of Miami Central High School in Florida.
