12. Georgia Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 13

Off to a 7-2 start to the season, Georgia rises a spot up to No. 12 in this week’s update, with their lone losses having come on the road to Wake Forest, as well as against UAB in the Sunshine Slam. As for the wins, Mike White’s Bulldogs have defeated teams such as Saint Joseph’s, Bucknell, and ETSU, with transfer Terry Roberts also sitting at the team-lead at 14 PPG.

The Bulldogs have a few notable matchups remaining in the non-conference slate such as Notre Dame and Georgia Tech, as well as Chattanooga. Should Georgia win at-least two of those games, as well as the remaining contests in their non-conference slate, then the Bulldogs should enter SEC Basketball play on a strong note.

11. Florida Gators

Previous Ranking: 6

One of the biggest teams to drop in the rankings this week was Florida, as the Gators fell five spots to No. 11. The Gators currently sit at 5-3 overall on the season, a slate that includes losses to Florida Atlantic, Xavier, and West Virginia.

Looking ahead, Florida has a few additional non-conference matchups remaining, the biggest of which is a showdown with UConn. After the Gators start to the year, it will be key for Florida to win a majority of their remaining non-conference games to build momentum entering SEC play.
