The month of November was an action packed one for SEC Basketball as a whole on the recruiting trail, mainly through the fact that many of the conference’s committed prospects signed. However, which of those those prospects made decisions during the month, and in turn, which SEC teams were among the biggest recruiting winners during November? November Commits:

  • 5-star CG DJ Wagner

Beginning with Kentucky, the Wildcats were easily one of SEC Basketball’s biggest recruiting winners once again during November, even despite landing only one commit. That is because Kentucky and head coach John Calipari landed arguably the nation’s No. 1 overall player in DJ Wagner, adding to what is also arguably the nation’s best 2023 class.

Wagner is rated as a five-star combo guard out of Camden High School in New Jersey, and as noted previously, is arguably the No. 1 player in the 2023 class. Wagner is one of the highest-rated players to ever commit to the Wildcats, and is also a high school teammate of current Kentucky commit Aaron Bradshaw.

Likely a day one starter in Lexington, Wagner is the fifth commitment for Kentucky in their 2023 class, one that is arguably the nation’s best this cycle. As for the impact that Wagner should have in Lexington as well, don’t be surprised if the five-star is the early favorite for the 2023-24 SEC Basketball Freshman of the Year.
