If there was ever a way to make a big splash in the transfer portal on one single day, well, look no further than what Georgia football did Thursday as the Bulldogs landed the duo of Dominic Lovett and RaRa Thomas, two of the top wide receivers available.

Beginning with a look at Lovett, the Missouri transfer is coming off an impressive season with the Tigers, one in which he had 56 receptions for 846 yards and three touchdowns. Lovett, a former four-star prospect in the 2021 class out of East St. Louis High School in Illinois, also ranked fourth in the SEC in receiving yards, as well as sixth in receptions, with this year coming off a freshman season in 2021 that included 26 receptions for 173 yards.
Thomas on the other hand comes to Georgia from the SEC West where he has spent the last two seasons at Mississippi State, catching 44 passes for 626 yards and seven touchdowns (No. 4 in SEC) during the 2022 campaign. Thomas is also a former three-star prospect from the 2021 class out of Eufaula High School in Alabama, one who also had 18 receptions for 252 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman during the 2021 season.
In addition to Lovett and Thomas, the Bulldogs also landed a commitment from Jordan Hall on Thursday to add to their second-ranked 2023 class. Hall is a four-star defensive line out of Westside High School in Florida, one who was one of the nation’s top uncommitted players as of Thursday.
Simply put, Thursday was an impressive day for Georgia football on the recruiting trail, as the Bulldogs landed not only two of the top receivers from the transfer portal, but also a potential instant impact freshman along the defensive line. As for Lovett and Thomas in particular however, it’s likely safe to say that both will be major impact players for the Georgia offense in 2023.
