LSU football lands former 5-star recruit, Texas A&M transfer Denver Harris

Even despite missing out on five-star cornerback Desmond Ricks, Thursday was not necessarily a total loss for LSU football on the recruiting trail. As to why, that is because the Tigers still added a significant piece at the cornerback position in Texas A&M transfer Denver Harris, who is a former five-star prospect in his own right.
LSU football lands former 5-star recruit, Texas A&M transfer Denver Harris
One of top players available in the transfer portal, Harris is coming off a freshman season at Texas A&M in which he appeared in a total of five games for the Aggies. A former five-star cornerback in the 2022 class out of North Shore High School in Texas, Harris compiled 14 total tackles and three PD’s during that span with the Aggies.
A talented cornerback at 6-foot-1, Harris is a player with multiple years of eligibility remaining, and has the potential to step in and make a key impact for LSU in 2023. As to what that potential role could be, Harris could very easily end up starting for the Tigers early next season, and should that happen, the former five-star would undoubtedly be a breakout candidate in 2023.
The addition of Harris is essentially the latest, and arguably biggest, from the transfer portal for LSU so far this offseason. Joining the former five-star are multiple names on the defensive side of the ball that should make an impact in 2023 such as linemen Jalen Lee, Paris Shand, and Bradyn Swinson, as well as wide receiver Aaron Anderson on the offensive side of the ball.
As for Harris in particular however, the former five-star is undoubtedly a name to watch for next season for LSU football. Could Harris potentially be a day one starter for the Tigers at cornerback in 2023?
