SEC Basketball: Tennessee, Georgia rise in latest 2022-23 power rankings

12. Texas A&M Aggies

One of the biggest teams to drop this week was Texas A&M, as the Aggies currently sit at 6-5 overall, falling three spots to No. 12. Aside from a 72-54 win over Oregon State, it has simply been a rough month of December so far for Buzz Williams and the Aggies as Texas A&M has dropped three of their last four games, which came against Boise State, Memphis, and Wofford.

Texas A&M should be favored however in each of their two remaining non-conference games to finish out December, with both coming at home against Northwestern State and Prairie View. The Aggies will then begin SEC basketball play on the road at Florida on January 4.

11. Florida Gators

Speaking of the Gators, Florida remains in the No. 11 spot in this week’s update, currently sitting at 7-5 overall. The Gators enter SEC basketball play having dropped two of their last three games against UConn and Oklahoma, with Florida also however owning an 82-48 win over Ohio between the two.

Having concluded non-conference play, Florida will officially open SEC play on December 28 when the Gators travel for a matchup with Auburn.
