6. Auburn Tigers

Previous Ranking: 5

Dropping a spot out of the top five this week is Auburn, as the Tigers come in at No. 6 currently owning a 10-2 overall record. The Tigers have split their last four games, with Auburn owning wins over both Georgia State and Washington during that span, as well as losses to Memphis and USC.

Auburn will now begin SEC play on December 28 with a home matchup against Florida.

5. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 7

Mississippi State continues to rise this week as the Bulldogs jump two spots up into the top five at No. 5, currently holding an 11-1 overall record. Having concluded non-conference play, Mississippi State was one win away from entering SEC play unbeaten at 12-0, but were defeated in their most recent contest against Drake, 58-52.

The Bulldogs will now look to get back in the win column in their SEC opener on December 28 at home against Alabama.
