1. Alabama Crimson Tide

Early Signing Period Additions:

  • 5-star DL James Smith
  • 5-star EDGE Qua Russaw
  • 5-star CB Desmond Ricks

A program that went from having the nation’s top 2023 class, to what could possibly be the greatest single recruiting class of all-time, it’s hard to imagine a bigger winner from the Early Signing Period than Alabama.

Not only did the Crimson Tide sign all of their current commitments, but Alabama also added three five-star prospects to the class, bringing the total to seven overall this cycle. The first two of those three was the defensive duo of James Smith and Qua Russaw on Wednesday, both of which were teammates at Carver-Montgomery High School in Alabama, and have a case to be made as the top player nationally at each’s respective position.

The Crimson Tide then continued to make noise Thursday night as Alabama landed a commitment from Desmond Ricks, a five-star cornerback out of IMG Academy in Florida. Ricks is considered as the nation’s No. 2 cornerback in the 2023 class, and chose the Crimson Tide over both Florida and LSU.
