Arkansas vs Kansas: Line, Prediction, TV Channel & Live Stream for 2022 Liberty Bowl
By Matt Melton
In what is the first meeting between the Razorbacks and Jayhawks in over a century, Arkansas and Kansas are set to meet Wednesday afternoon for the 2022 AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Kansas owns a 2-0 overall record in the head-to-head series between the two, with the lone prior games having come back in 1905 and 1906.
Arkansas enters the 2022 Liberty Bowl with a 6-6 overall record this season, one that includes a 3-5 mark in SEC play. The Razorbacks, led by head coach Sam Pittman, have however lost three of their last four games against Liberty, LSU, and at Missouri, with the lone win coming at home to Ole Miss, 42-27.
The Arkansas offense, which ranks No. 48 nationally at 30.7 PPG, is led by starting quarterback KJ Jefferson, who has accounted for 29 total touchdowns this season, 22 of which came through the air. Raheim Sanders was one of the SEC’s top rushers this season at 1,426 yards and 10 scores, while the Razorbacks top receivers are Matt Landers and Jadon Haselwood, both of which have 700+ receiving yards this season.
Arkansas’ defense ranks No. 91 nationally by allowing 28.8 PPG, and are led by one of the SEC’s top linebacker duos in Drew Sanders and Bumper Pool. The Razorbacks also have a few pass rushers who each have at-least four sacks this season in Jordan Domineck, Zach Williams, and Chris Paul Jr., with Simeon Blair, Hudson Clark, and Latavious Brini among the additional key players for Arkansas.
Kansas on the other hand will be playing in their first bowl game since 2008, also coming off a 6-6 season that included a 3-6 mark in Big 12 play. Led by head coach Lance Leipold, the Jayhawks originally began the year 5-0, but have struggled since by owning a combined 1-6 record, as well as having lost three-straight.
The Jayhawks offense is likely the strength of their team, with Kansas ranking No. 27 nationally at 34.2 PPG led by quarterback duo of Jalon Daniels and Jason Bean. Kansas also has a 1,000-yard rusher in Devin Neal at running back, while the Jayhawks top pass catchers are Lawrence Arnold, Quentin Skinner, Luke Grimm, and Mason Fairchild.
Defensively, Kansas ranks No. 119 nationally with an average of 33.8 PPG allowed to opponents, with Kenny Logan Jr. and Rich Miller leading the way in tackles. Lonnie Phelps and Craig Young also lead the Jayhawks in sacks with a combined 11.5 between the two, with others such as Ra’Mello Dotson, Marvin Grant, and Lorenzo McCaskill among the names to know on the Kansas defense.
Arkansas vs Kansas Line, Spread, Over/Under

Arkansas vs Kansas 2022 Liberty Bowl Prediction
Even despite having struggled toward the end of the regular season, combined with multiple players out of this game, Arkansas is still likely the favorite. I’ll say that the Razorbacks come away with the win as well, in part due to a big game from quarterback KJ Jefferson. Prediction: Arkansas 30, Kansas 20
