In the final SEC game of the 2022 season, Georgia looks to complete its’ quest to become the first repeat champion of the CFP era, as the Bulldogs face TCU in the 2023 CFP National Championship Game. This is the fifth-ever meeting between the Bulldogs and Horned Frogs on the football field, with Georgia having won all four previous’ contests, most recently in 2016.

The 2022 SEC champions, Georgia is ranked as the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff, and enters the 2023 CFP National Championship Game undefeated at 14-0. As mentioned previously, the Bulldogs are also the defending national champions, and are coming off a thrilling come-from-behind semifinal win in the Peach Bowl against Ohio State, defeating the Buckeyes, 42-41.

Offensively, Georgia is led by a Heisman finalist at quarterback in senior Stetson Bennett, with the Bulldogs currently ranking No. 8 nationally with an average of 39.4 PPG. In addition to Bennett, Georgia has three primary options at running back in Kenny McIntosh, Daijun Edwards, and Kendall Milton, along with Brock Bowers, Ladd McConkey, Darnell Washington, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, and Kearis Jackson as the top receivers.

Alongside those two, others such as Jalen Carter, Malaki Starks, Kelee Ringo, Christopher Smith, and Javon Bullard are all also names to know on the Georgia defense.

TCU, who is the No. 3 seed in the College Football Playoff, will be looking for their first national title since 1938, and enters the 2023 CFP National Championship Game with a 13-1 record under head coach Sonny Dykes. The Horned Frogs are also coming off a 51-45 win over Michigan in the Fiesta Bowl, with their lone loss this season having come in the Big 12 Championship Game to Kansas State, 31-28.

Georgia vs TCU 2023 CFP National Championship Game Prediction

Plain and simple, expect the Georgia defense to be a big difference maker Monday night against TCU.
