6. South Carolina Gamecocks

Notable Players Returning:

  • QB Spencer Rattler
  • WR Antwane Wells Jr.
  • DB Nick Emmanwori
  • DB DQ Smith
  • DB Marcellas Dial

South Carolina (8-5 overall, 4-4 in SEC) took yet another step forward in year two under Shane Beamer, and now enter a 2023 campaign looking to take yet another step into a potential SEC title contender. As for if that could happen, the Gamecocks could certainly be a team to watch for in 2023, especially with quarterback Spencer Rattler having recently announced his return for next season.

5. Ole Miss Rebels

Notable Players Returning:

  • RB Quinshon Judkins
  • QB Jaxson Dart
  • DB Tysheem Johnson
  • DB Isheem Young
  • DB Ladarius Tennison

Ole Miss (8-5 overall, 4-4 in SEC) begins the top five here, as Lane Kiffin’s Rebels should once again be among the top half of the SEC in 2023 once again. Leading the Rebels will once again be quarterback Jaxson Dart, with Ole Miss also returning the SEC’s leading rusher, Quinshon Judkins, in the backfield as well.
