Arguably SEC basketball’s biggest game Saturday, Missouri is set to host Alabama inside Mizzou Arena for a matchup that the Tigers have owned at home in recent years. The Crimson Tide did however win the previous meeting between the two last season, but have not beaten Missouri in Columbia since the 2018-19 season, with the Tigers having won the last three inside Mizzou Arena.

Missouri currently owns a 14-4 overall record this season, as well as a 3-3 mark in SEC play. The Tigers are also coming off a 79-76 midweek win over Arkansas at home, which snapped what was previously a two-game losing streak for the Tigers.

The Tigers rank No. 9 nationally with an average of 84.1 PPG offensively, and are led by the duo of Kobe Brown and D’Moi Hodge, both of which average 14+ PPG. Missouri also allows 75.4 PPG to opponents, with others such as DeAndre Gholston, Noah Carter, Nick Honor, and Sean East among the additional names to know.

Alabama is ranked as the No. 4 overall team in the country according to the latest AP Poll, and is currently sitting atop the SEC at 6-0 in conference play, while also holding a 16-2 overall record. The Crimson Tide also come into Saturday on a seven-game winning streak, one that dates back to December 20.

The Crimson Tide currently rank No. 11 nationally in scoring with an average of 84 PPG, and are led by arguably the nation’s top freshman in Brandon Miller at 20.1 PPG and 8.3 RPG. Also allowing 69.3 PPG, Alabama is also a Top 15 team nationally in both offensive and defensive efficiency according to KenPom, with others such as Mark Sears, Noah Clowney, Jaden Bradley, Jahvon Quinerly, and Charles Bediako among the additional names to know.

Missouri vs Alabama SEC Basketball Prediction

Even despite the fact that Alabama has struggled in Columbia across recent years, it’s still hard to pick against the Crimson Tide here. I’ll say that the Crimson Tide take the win Saturday in a game that has the potential to be high-scoring between two good offensive teams. Prediction: Missouri 71, Alabama 78
