SEC News: Missouri lands QB, Mitchell announces transfer destination

SEC fans, welcome to the weekend! To kickoff your Saturday, here is everything that you need to know from across the SEC on Friday, as well as a look ahead to Saturday’s games from across the conference.

Georgia OC Sedrick Van Pran returning for 2023 season

Georgia’s starting center across each of the last two seasons, Sedrick Van Pran announced Friday that he would be returning to Athens for the 2023 campaign. Van Pran should be one of, if not, the top centers in the SEC next season.

Missouri lands Miami transfer QB Jake Garcia

Jake Garcia, who is a Miami transfer quarterback, announced Friday that he would be transferring to Missouri next season.

Garcia, a former four-star prospect in the 2021 class, appeared in eight games with the Hurricanes this past season, completing 59.1% of his passes for 803 yards and a 5:4 TD:INT ratio.

Florida releases QB Jaden Rashada from LOI

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Florida has reportedly released quarterback signee Jaden Rashada from his National Letter of Intent. Rashada is rated as a four-star prospect out of Pittsburg High School in California, and previously signed with Florida during the Early Signing Period.

Georgia WR AD Mitchell transfers to Texas

After entering the transfer portal Wednesday, Georgia wide receiver AD Mitchell has transferred to Texas. Mitchell has spent the previous two seasons in Athens with the Bulldogs, catching 38 total passes for 560 yards and seven touchdowns.
