Two of the hottest teams in SEC basketball at the moment, Auburn and Texas A&M are set to face off Wednesday night for a showdown on the Plains. The Aggies have won three of the last four meetings between the two dating back to the 2019-20 season, with Auburn however having won last year’s matchup inside Neville Arena, 75-58.

Auburn comes into this matchup ranked as the No. 15 team in the country according to the latest AP Poll, holding a 16-3 overall record, as well as a 6-1 mark in SEC play. The Tigers are currently on a five-game winning streak as well, one that dates back to January 7.

Auburn is currently averaging 72.6 PPG offensively, as well as allowing 62.6 PPG on defense, and are led in scoring by the duo of Wendell Green Jr. and Johni Broome. Others such as Jaylin Williams, Allen Flanigan, KD Johnson, and Chris Moore are also key names to know for the Tigers, a team that also ranks No. 5 nationally with 5.9 BPG.

Texas A&M comes into Wednesday holding a 13-6 overall record, as well as a 5-1 mark in the SEC. The Aggies are coming off a 76-67 road loss at Kentucky on Saturday, a result that snapped what was previously a seven-game winning streak for Texas A&M that dated back to December 27.

The Aggies, who are currently averaging 74.5 PPG offensively, while also allowing 66.1 PPG on defense, have three players averaging in double-figures in Wade Taylor, Tyrece Radford, and Julius Marble, with Henry Coleman not far behind at 9.8 PPG. Dexter Dennis and Manny Obaseki are two additional key scorers to know for a Texas A&M that gets to the free throw line as good as any team in the SEC, ranking No. 8 nationally with an average of 24.5 attempted per game.

Auburn vs Texas A&M SEC Basketball Prediction

Something you will likely here Wednesday night is Auburn’s current home winning streak, that is currently the longest in the country. As for if Texas A&M can break that streak, it is certainly a possibility, but I’ll say that the Tigers keep the streak going in what will be a close game. Prediction: Auburn 73, Texas A&M 69
