When having a conversation about the top three-point shooters to play for Kentucky basketball under head coach John Calipari, Doron Lamb is a name that should certainly come up. A two-year impact player who helped lead the Wildcats to a national championship, here is a look back at the career of Lamb at Kentucky.

Looking back at the Kentucky Basketball career of Doron Lamb

Lamb originally came to Kentucky as a member of the Wildcats 2010 recruiting class, one that had a total of four five-star prospects. One of those four was indeed Lamb, who was ranked as the No. 24 overall player nationally in the 2010 class according to the 247Sports Composite out of Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.

Once in Lexington, Lamb would go on to make an instant impact as a freshman, starting in 14-of-38 games during the 2010-11 season to average 12.3 PPG, 2 RPG, and 1.6 APG. An SEC All-Freshman selection, Lamb would also shoot 49.7% from the field, as well as 48.6% from three and 79% from the free throw line, and would simply play a pivotal role for a 2010-11 Kentucky team that would reach the Final Four.

Lamb would emerge as a full-time starter for the Wildcats during the 2011-12 season, starting in 35-of-40 games for a Kentucky team that went 38-2 to win the national championship. During that season, Lamb would average 13.7 PPG, 2.7 RPG, and 1.5 APG on 47.4%/46.6%/82.6% shooting, while also being named both 2012 NCAA All-Tournament team, as well as 2012 NCAA Tournament All-Region.

Entering the 2012 NBA Draft at seasons end, Lamb would conclude his collegiate career after two seasons with the Wildcats, and would be selected with the No. 42 overall pick in the second round that year by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Across his two seasons in Lexington, Lamb would average a combined 13.1 PPG across 78 games, along with 2.3 RPG and 1.6 APG. Finishing his Kentucky basketball career with 1,018 total points scored, Lamb would also shoot a combined 47.5% from three-point range, as well as 48.5% from the field and 81.1% from the free throw line.

Lamb would go on to play only two seasons in the NBA with the Bucks and Orlando Magic, with the former Kentucky guard averaging 3.5 PPG on 39.4% shooting from three across 100 career games. Lamb is still currently playing professionally overseas.
