The matchup for Super Bowl LVII is now officially set, as the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will meet Sunday, February 12 to crown a champion on football’s biggest stage, with 22 former SEC players currently combined across the two team’s active rosters.

Two teams loaded with talent from the conference on both sides of the ball, which former players from the SEC will be playing in Super Bowl LVII?

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have a total of 11 former players from the SEC playing in Super Bowl LVII, four of which played at Alabama in quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver/2020 Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith, offensive lineman Landon Dickerson, and cornerback Josh Jobe.

Georgia also has two former players, both of which are rookies from their 2021 national title team, playing in Super Bowl LVII in defensive tackle Jordan Davis and linebacker Nakobe Dean, as does Mississippi State in defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and cornerback Darius Slay. Ole Miss, Florida, and Auburn also have a player each in wide receiver AJ Brown, safety CJ Gardner-Johnson, and offensive lineman Jack Driscoll, respectively.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs also have a total of 11 former players from the SEC in Super Bowl LVII, with Florida leading the way at three in wide receiver Kadarius Toney, defensive end Carlos Dunlap, and punter Tommy Townsend.

Similar to the Eagles as well, the Chiefs also have two players each from Georgia and Mississippi State, with wide receiver Mecole Hardman and defensive lineman Malik Herring representing the defending national champions, while defensive tackle Chris Jones and linebacker Willie Gay are the Bulldogs duo. The remaining four players come from Missouri (linebacker Nick Bolton), Kentucky (offensive lineman Darrian Kinnard), Tennessee (offensive lineman Trey Smith), and Auburn (offensive lineman Prince Tega Wanogho).

In conclusion, there are also a few former SEC players for each team that are currently on either the injured reserve or practice squad. Those players are listed below:
