SEC News: Alabama OC update, Ryans named NFL head coach

SEC fans, good morning! As you begin your Wednesday, which also happens to be National Signing Day, here is a look back at a few of the biggest headlines from across the conference Tuesday.
Washington OC Ryan Grubb to remain with Huskies after meeting with Alabama
According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenburg, Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb will remain with the Huskies program. Grubb, who led the nation’s No. 7 scoring offense this past season at Washington with 39.7 PPG, had reportedly met with Alabama on Monday about the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator position.
Ole Miss CB Davison Igbinosun transfers to Ohio State
A former four-star prospect from the 2022 class, Ole Miss cornerback Davison Igbinosun has transferred to Ohio State after one season in Oxford. Igbinosun appeared in 13 games for the Rebels this past season, compiling 37 tackles with five PD.
Auburn included in top five for 5-star CG Dylan Harper
Dylan Harper released a list of his top five schools Tuesday, a group that included Auburn, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, and Rutgers. Harper, who attends Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey, is considered as a five-star prospect, as well as a top five player nationally in the 2024 class.
Former Alabama LB DeMeco Ryans named head coach of Houston Texans
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans was named the new head coach of the Houston Texans on Tuesday. Ryans, a former Alabama linebacker, is best remembered in the SEC by his 2005 season with the Crimson Tide in which he compiled 76 tackles, 11.5 TFL, five sacks, and an interception to be named a Consensus All-American, the Lott Trophy winner, and the 2005 SEC Defensive Player of the Year.
Ryans, who played 10 seasons in the NFL from 2006-15, would also be selected by the Texans at No. 33 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft out of Alabama.
