One of the highest-rated uncommitted prospects in the 2023 class entering National Signing Day, Nyckoles Harbor has now officially made his collegiate decision, committing to head coach Shane Beamer and South Carolina football.
Harbor announced his commitment to the Gamecocks over a list of additional finalists that included Maryland, Miami, Michigan, and Oregon.

A coveted prospect, Harbor is rated as a five-star athlete out of Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington DC, and is considered as the No. 1 overall athlete in the 2023 class. At 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, Harbor is also rated as the No. 19 player nationally in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports Composite, as well as the No. 1 overall player in Washington DC.
A prospect who held over 40+ collegiate offers, Harbor is one of the most intriguing players in the 2023 class, solely through the fact that the five-star could play on either side of the ball in college. Yes, even in the SEC, Harbor could see time on both sides of the ball next season with the Gamecocks.
At 6-foot-5, Harbor has elite speed for his size, and when compared to some of the other top names from the 2023 class at all positions, few, if any, are faster than Harbor. As to which position Harbor will play at South Carolina, the five-star could be an impact player at either tight end or edge rusher as early as next season.
As for South Carolina football’s 2023 class overall, Harbor is the first five-star of the group, and likely puts the finishing touches on what was a strong class for head coach Shane Beamer. There will obviously be numerous names to watch for when it comes to making an impact next season, the biggest of which now is Harbor, one of the highest-rated players to ever sign with South Carolina.
