Alabama, Tennessee lone SEC teams ranked in latest AP Poll
There were only two SEC teams ranked in the latest college basketball AP Poll on Monday, which were Alabama rising a spot up to No. 3, as well as Tennessee falling four spots to No. 6. Alabama also received one first place vote, while a few other SEC programs received votes to be included in this week’s AP Poll, but were ranked outside the Top 25 – Auburn, Arkansas, Missouri, and Kentucky.
4-star ATH Martavious Collins decommits from Alabama
Having previously been committed to the Crimson Tide since July of 2022, Martavious Collins announced Monday afternoon that he has decommitted from Alabama. Collins is rated as a four-star ATH in the 2024 class out of Rome High School in Georgia.
Former Georgia WR A.J. Green announces retirement
One of the top wide receivers in Georgia football history, as well as a seven-time Pro Bowl selection at the professional level, A.J. Green announced his retirement on Monday after 11 seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals. A former first round pick out of Georgia in the 2011 NFL Draft, Green, who came out of the 2008 class as a five-star prospect and Top 10 player nationally, would spend three seasons with the Bulldogs from 2008-10, a span in which he had a combined 166 receptions for 2,619 yards and 23 touchdowns.
3-star QB Anthony Maddox commits to Texas A&M
Texas A&M landed a commitment Monday from Anthony Maddox, who is a three-star quarterback in the 2024 class out of Oak Grove High School in Mississippi. Maddox is the Aggies fourth commit of the 2024 class, as well as the first at the quarterback position.
