14. Missouri Tigers

We begin here with the Missouri Tigers, who begin the 2023 season as the No. 14 team in our SEC baseball power rankings.

The Tigers, led by head coach Steve Bieser, are coming off a 2022 season in which they finished with a 28-23 overall record, one that also included a 10-20 mark in SEC play. The Tigers were one of two teams from the conference to miss the postseason entirely as well, not qualifying for the SEC Tournament.

As for this season, the Tigers will be tasked with replacing a key name at shortstop in Josh Day, who was a Second Team All-SEC selection at the position a year ago. Missouri will also have to replace a few others, with the biggest name likely being that of outfielder Torin Montgomery, who hit for a .365 AVG for the Tigers a year ago.

Missouri’s biggest name set to return however is likely that of Luke Mann, a third baseman who hit 17 HR for the Tigers a year ago. Also returning for the Tigers are a few other notable names such as Trevor Austin, Carter Rustad, and Austin Troesser.

Overall, the Tigers should have a similar season to a year ago, and could potentially be a team to watch for, especially if they can replace the lost production of Day and Montgomery in the lineup.
