One of the premier annual events of the sport at the professional level, here are the five former SEC basketball players set to play in Sunday night’s 2023 NBA All-Star Game.

Bam Adebayo – Miami Heat
Adebayo, who is in his sixth NBA season with the Miami Heat, will be making his second-career All-Star appearance on Sunday as an Eastern Conference reserve. The former 2017 first round pick out of Kentucky is enjoying a career-year for Miami, averaging a double-double at 21.6 PPG and 10 RPG, as well as 3.3 APG.
Julius Randle – New York Knicks
A nine-year NBA veteran, Randle will also be making his second-career All-Star appearance as an Eastern Conference reserve, with both having come during his four seasons with the New York Knicks. Randle, a 2014 first round pick out of Kentucky, is also enjoying one of the better seasons of his NBA career, averaging 24.8 PPG, 10.8 RPG, and 4.1 APG.
Anthony Edwards – Minnesota Timberwolves
Edwards, who is in his third NBA season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, is the first of three former SEC basketball players making their first-career All-Star appearance Sunday. Edwards, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Georgia, is currently averaging 24.9 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 4.5 APG, making the All-Star Game as a Western Conference reserve.
De’Aaron Fox – Sacramento Kings
Fox will also be making his first All-Star appearance as a Western Conference reserve in what is his sixth season in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings. Fox, a former 2017 first round pick out of Kentucky, is currently averaging 24.8 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 6.2 APG for the Kings.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Oklahoma City Thunder
The final name on this list, Gilgeous-Alexander is also making his first-career All-Star appearance, coming in his fifth NBA season, as well as his fourth with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The former 2018 first round pick out of Kentucky has been one of the NBA’s top scorers this season averaging 30.8 PPG, along with 4.7 RPG and 5.7 APG, and is a Western Conference reserve.
