As we head into a new week, there has been some shakeup in the NCAAB SEC rankings within the AP Top 25 polls.

Alabama and Tennessee drop, Texas A&M enters AP Top 25

Alabama Week 15 Ranking: #1 – Week 16 Ranking: #2

If you were worried about Alabama after they lost on the road to Tennessee, don’t be. One, Tennessee is a hostile environment, and two, Alabama didn’t play well at all, and still kept it close.

They followed up that loss with a dominant and reassuring win at home against Georgia, where they put up 108 points, their most all season.

This is an all around dominant team, built to win now. In my eyes, not only are they the best team in the SEC, but, they are also the best team in all of college basketball.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if this team cut down the nets in April.

Tennessee Week 15 Ranking: #10 – Week 16 Ranking: #11

If it weren’t for a very much needed clutch win at home against #2 Alabama, Tennessee would probably be ranked 14 or 15. The Vols have dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since Week 4 of the AP top 25 rankings.

Three weeks ago they were the number 2 ranked team. Since then they’ve dropped 4 of 6, and three straight on the road.

The Vols will need to rebound quickly when they head to College Station to take on an extremely talented team in Texas A&M.

This is a must-win game for the Vols.

Texas A&M Week 15 Ranking: NR – Week 16 Ranking: #25

Since dropping to 6-5 early in the season, Texas A&M has won 14 of their last 16. They’ve been rewarded for their play. The Aggies jumped into the top 25 for the first time since Week 2 of the AP top 25 rankings.

The Aggies will look to continue on their hot stretch, and make it six in a row, as they host #11 ranked Tennessee tomorrow in a game of paramount importance for both teams.
