8. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 8

Speaking of the Bulldogs, Mississippi State (19-10 overall, 7-9 in SEC) also remains in the No. 8 spot this week. The Bulldogs are coming off a split week that began with a 66-64 overtime loss on the road at Missouri on Tuesday, but would bounce back with a big 69-62 win at home against Texas A&M on Saturday.

Mississippi State will now begin the final week of the regular season Tuesday night in Starkville by hosting South Carolina. The Bulldogs will then travel to Vanderbilt on Saturday night for the SEC regular season finale.

7. Auburn Tigers

Previous Ranking: 5

Auburn (19-10 overall, 9-7 in SEC) was one of the biggest teams to drop this week, as the Tigers now sit at No. 7 in our latest update. The Tigers originally opened the week with a close 78-74 home win over Ole Miss on Wednesday, which was followed by an 86-54 road loss at Kentucky on Saturday.

Looking ahead, Auburn now has one of the toughest final weeks of the 2022-23 regular season of any SEC basketball team, one that begins with a trip to face Alabama on Wednesday night. Auburn will then return home Saturday for a matchup against Tennessee.
