SEC News: Ole Miss signees released from LOI, NFL roster moves

As you begin your Wednesday morning, here are a few headlines to know from across the SEC on Tuesday, which featured two notable recruiting updates for Ole Miss basketball, as well as a few noteworthy roster moves for former conference stars in the NFL.
Ole Miss signee Josh Hubbard released from LOI
Josh Hubbard, who was one of the highest-rated commits in Ole Miss’ 2023 basketball class, has been released from his National Letter of Intent, and will re-open his recruitment. Hubbard, a four-star point guard out of in-state Madison-Ridgeland Academy, was considered as the top player in the state of Mississippi.
Daron Payne franchise tagged by Washington Commanders
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Alabama defensive lineman Daron Payne has been franchise tagged by the Washington Commanders coming off a career season. Payne, a former 2018 first round pick out of Alabama, is coming off his fifth-career NFL season with Washington, with the former Crimson Tide standout compiling 64 tackles, 18 TFL, and 11.5 sacks this past fall to make his first-career Pro Bowl appearance.
Ole Miss signee Rashaud Marshall released from LOI
In addition to Hubbard previously, Ole Miss signee Rashaud Marshall has also been released from his National Letter of Intent, and will re-open his recruitment. Marshall is considered as the top player in the 2023 class from the state of Arkansas, rated as a four-star center out of Blytheville High School.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers plan to release Leonard Fournette
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers plan to release Leonard Fournette when the new league year begins March 15. The former 2017 first round pick out of LSU played in 16 games for the Buccaneers this past season, which was also his third in Tampa Bay, rushing for 668 yards and three touchdowns on 189 attempts.
