2023 NFL Draft: 3 potential destinations for Alabama QB Bryce Young
By Matt Melton
One of the top overall players available, Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is likely to come off the board very early in the 2023 NFL Draft, most likely at some point within the first five picks. Where are some potential destinations that Young could land, and are there any other teams outside the top five that could potentially trade up for the former Heisman Trophy winner?
3 potential 2023 NFL Draft destinations for Alabama QB Bryce Young
Houston Texans
Inside the top five, there are two teams that you could argue are obvious potential destinations for Young, the first of which is the Houston Texans, who currently hold the No. 2 overall pick. Of teams that need a quarterback, the Texans pick the highest of any in the 2023 NFL Draft, and could opt-to select the Alabama signal caller at No. 2 overall, if not trade up to the top pick, to help lead the 2023 Houston offense under new head coach DeMecco Ryans.
Indianapolis Colts
The second of those two teams is the Indianapolis Colts, who currently hold the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Indianapolis will also be entering the first year under their new head coach, Shane Steichen, and could be set to move on from starting quarterback Matt Ryan this offseason, with Young a potential candidate for the Colts in this draft, even despite having to likely trade up to take the Alabama quarterback.
Carolina Panthers
Outside of the previous two, there could be a few teams to watch for that could also potentially trade up to select Young or another quarterback, a group that also includes the Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders. However, the Carolina Panthers, who currently hold the No. 9 overall pick, could be the team to watch for considering they have a noteworthy amount of picks to use in a potential trade.
