2023 SEC Tournament Teams to Watch

The Favorite – Alabama Crimson Tide

As we enter the 2023 SEC Tournament, there is a clear favorite to be the last team standing this week in Nashville in Alabama, the 2022-23 SEC regular season champion. The Crimson Tide own a 26-5 overall record so far this season, as well as a 16-2 mark in SEC play, and will enter this week in Nashville as the conference’s No. 1 overall seed.

Biggest Threat to Favorite – Texas A&M Aggies

While on the other side of the bracket, the biggest threat to Alabama potentially winning the 2023 SEC Tournament might just be Texas A&M in a potential championship game matchup. The No. 2 seed in the 2023 SEC Tournament is one of only two teams within the conference to defeat the Crimson Tide this season, having beaten Alabama this past Saturday at home by a final score of 67-61.

Team to Watch For – Kentucky Wildcats

As for a team to watch for that could easily make a run to the championship game, if not win the tournament, Kentucky might just be your answer. The conference’s No. 3 seed is playing some of the best basketball of any team across the SEC at the moment, with the Wildcats having won five of their last six games.

Potential Sleeper – Arkansas Razorbacks

As for a potential sleeper team, what about the Arkansas Razorbacks? Yes, the SEC’s No. 10 seed has lost three-straight entering the SEC Tournament, as well as having a challenging second round matchup against Auburn ahead, but the Razorbacks are certainly talented, and have gotten hot during March across each of the last two seasons.
