Alabama vs Texas A&M: Line, Prediction, TV Channel & Live Stream for 2023 SEC Tournament Championship Game
By Matt Melton
In what is the final game before March Madness officially begins, the top two teams from the SEC regular season will meet Sunday afternoon, as Alabama and Texas A&M collide once again for the 2023 SEC Tournament championship game. The Crimson Tide and Aggies met only once during the regular season, a game in which Texas A&M won back on March 4 in College Station, 67-61.
Alabama, who is the No. 1 seed in the 2023 SEC Tournament, reached the championship game in Nashville with a 72-61 semifinal win over Missouri on Saturday, which followed a 72-49 win over Mississippi State in the quarterfinals on Friday. The Crimson Tide now sit at 28-5 overall for the season, and could potentially secure the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament with a win Sunday, one that would be Alabama’s second tournament title under head coach Nate Oats.
The Crimson Tide currently rank No. 6 nationally with an average of 82.8 PPG offensively, and are led by the SEC Player and Freshman of the Year, Brandon Miller. Alabama also leads the nation in both total and defensive rebounding while also allowing 69.5 PPG to opponents, and have others such as Mark Sears, Noah Clowney, SEC Co-Sixth Man of the Year Jahvon Quinerly, Jaden Bradley, and more among the names to know.
Texas A&M, the SEC’s No. 2 seed, reached the championship game with an impressive 87-75 win over Vanderbilt in the semifinals, which followed a 67-61 win over Arkansas in the quarterfinals. The Aggies are 25-8 overall for the year as a result of Saturday’s win, and are chasing their first-ever SEC Tournament title after finishing runner-up a year ago.
The Aggies are currently averaging 73.1 PPG, while also allowing 65.4 PPG to opponents, and are the nation’s No. 1 team in both free throws made and attempted this season at 19.3 and 25.3 per game, respectively. Leading the Aggies in scoring is the duo of Wade Taylor IV and Tyrece Radford, while Henry Coleman, Julius Marble, Dexter Dennis, and Andersson Garcia all make key impacts for Texas A&M.
Alabama vs Texas A&M Line, Spread, Over/Under
As of Saturday night, Alabama is a 3.5-point favorite over Texas A&M according to FanDuel, with the over/under at 145.5. Alabama is -182, while Texas A&M is +150.
Alabama vs Texas A&M 2023 SEC Tournament Championship Game Prediction
Coming into Sunday, Texas A&M has won each of the last six games against Alabama, which, as mentioned previously, includes the lone meeting earlier this year. While an Aggies win would not surprise me here either, I’ll say that Alabama breaks that head-to-head losing streak behind a big performance from Brandon Miller, with the Crimson Tide winning the SEC title in a close game. Prediction: Alabama 78, Texas A&M 73
